An optocoupler is also called an opto-isolator or an optocoupler. It is a device that transmits electrical signals with light as the carrier.

Usually, the emitter (IR LED) and the light receiver (light sensitive semiconductor tube, photoresistor) are packed in one tube. When the input terminal is energized, the light emitter emits light, and the light receiver generates photocurrent after receiving the light that flows out from the output terminal, thus realizing "electrical-optical-electrical" control.
