Most efficient solar cell invented in Australia

An Australian solar company has created the world's most efficient solar cell. After testing, it turned out that its effectiveness is 25.54 percent, which is currently a record number. The results were checked by experts from the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hameln.

The company that achieved such success was created in 2015 with a small budget but a big idea: to develop a new technology for making solar panels. Today, solar cells are produced with the addition of silver - an expensive and finite resource. Australian developers have decided to use copper in solar panels, which is one hundred times cheaper than silver. One of the founders of the company, Vince Allen, noted that the efficiency of the new solar cells could be as high as 27 percent, which indicates the cost-effectiveness of using copper to replace silver.

At the moment, the company is not ready to provide a new type of solar cells for commercial use, but an innovative approach to manufacturing could completely change the field of solar energy, thanks to a significant reduction in cost.
